Candlelit Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Tuesdays at 7:30 pm with Karoline
Wednesdays at 6:30 am with Bhavi
Thursdays at 6:30 am with Karoline
Vinyasa Flow is a fast-paced form of yoga, in which each breath initiates a new movement or a deepening of a posture. The poses "flow" together and this allows yogis to get a full-body cardio workout while also building strength and enhancing flexibility. Our Vinyasa Flows are set to fun, upbeat music that will get your heart racing and blood pumping as you sweat out all the stress of your day.
Candlelit Yin Yoga
Thursdays at 6:30 pm with Bhavi
Yin is a passive style of yoga that involves laying in poses on the mat, without any muscle activation. Both relaxing and rejuvenating, Yin incorporates principles from Chinese medicine and is designed to balance the "yin" and "yang" energies in the body. In this class, props are used to support the body as yogis lay in postures for several minutes at a time and focus on deep breathing. The goal of yin is to release excess tension held in the deep tissues of the body, such as the fascia and ligaments, and to increase circulation.

Cris Bowen
Cris Bowen has been teaching yoga since 2004 and is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 200 level, which means that on top of her 200 hr training, she also has over 1,000 hours of teaching experience. She is additionally certified as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), which qualifies her to provide Yoga Alliance approved trainings for other yoga teachers. Cris first began her yoga practice in Colorado, but did her formal training in Phoenix before moving to Japan where she taught yoga and worked as an elementary school teacher at a U.S. Air Force base. She has participated in yoga trainings all over Asia; from Bali to Bhutan, and has experienced yoga on many levels from Acro yoga to SUP yoga. Cris also has experience as a spin teacher and a body-builder, and has participated in competitions around the US. Her most recent move brought her back to the mountains of Flagstaff, where she feels more connected and grounded, and is now a permanent resident. She loves spending her free time camping, climbing, and overlanding in her Jeep with her pack of dogs. Yoga is one of her passions that accompanies her wherever she goes, and she greatly enjoys sharing her knowledge and unique teaching style with others. Cris still teaches elementary students here in Flagstaff, and finds her yoga practice helps her be a more successful teacher at school and in the gym.
