Recreational TEAM

No climbing experience required. This non-competitive team introduces athletes to climbing in a fun, encouraging environment while building foundational skills. Perfect for athletes of all abilities who are interested in progressing in the sport.

Age Group:  2008-2018 (8 to 18)
Schedule: Monday and/or Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Skill Level: No prerequisites, All skill levels
Cost: $180/mo - 2 days a week; $95/mo - 1 day a week

Membership includes:

  • One or two practices per week with our qualified coaches

  • Special Team Beta pricing on climbing shoes (30% off)

  • Full Individual Membership to Beta Bouldering Gym and discounts for family members (15% off).

Developmental team

The Developmental Team is designed for athletes who have shown motivation and drive to level up their climbing, as well as an interest in competition climbing. Coaches introduce athletes to competition formats with an emphasis on competition-specific tactics and skills. Practices are more structured, with a focus on movement quality, consistency, and goal setting. Athletes are required to participate in at least 3 competitions per season, USAC-sanctioned or local events.

Developmental Team is by invitation only, following a tryout.

Age Group: 2008-2017 (9 to 18)

Summer Schedule: Tuesday/Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Fall Schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. OR Monday/Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Skill Level: Prerequisite = Team Tryouts and Coach Invitation
Cost: $250/mo - 3 days a week; $215/mo - 2 days a week

Competition team

This team is reserved for athletes who have demonstrated a high level of commitment and dedication to climbing. Competition Team athletes are required to compete in the full USA Climbing circuit, including all events they qualify for, and attend additional competition training opportunities at nearby gyms. Training is highly structured and performance-focused, driving athletes to grow to their full potential.

Competition Team is a full commitment and should be carefully considered by the whole family if a child is interested. Competition Team is by invitation only, following a tryout.

Age Group: 2008 to 2016 (10 to 18)

Summer Schedule: Tuesday/Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Fall Schedule: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Skill Level: Prerequisite = Team Tryouts and Coach Invitation
Cost: $275/mo - 3 days a week

With over 40 years of combined climbing experience and competitive backgrounds ranging from National Championships to the Elite National Cup circuit and IFSC Youth Worlds, our staff brings unmatched expertise to youth climbing in Flagstaff. Our coaches don’t just teach the sport—they’ve experienced it at the highest levels.
